This course helped me achieve employment in a whole new sector
Like many this last year, Samantha fell victim to the effects the pandemic has had on the economy when she was made redundant in November.
Samantha decided to make the most of her situation and pursue a career as a Teaching Assistant, an area she has never worked in before but had always wanted to do.
Not wasting any time, Samantha quickly signed up to HBTC's Introduction to Teaching Assistant course to learn more about the role and get support to help her progress in this area.
Samantha has completed the introduction to teaching assistant online resources and has gained a level 2 certificate in safeguarding and prevent and has valued the support she has received from the programme. "‘I liked the regular contact and to know if I needed anything I could just email or call".
The knowledge and confidence Samantha has gained from the course have given her the courage to put herself forward for school-based roles and Samantha started employment as a Lunchtime Supervisor at a local primary school!
"This course has given me the confidence I needed to apply for roles in an area I have no experience in. If anyone is looking for a change in direction with their career I would definitely recommend this programme. In fact, I've already suggested it to one of my friends!"
