Meet the Staff - Ryan Burdall

Ryan Burdall

How long have you worked at HBTC and how has your role developed in this time?

I have worked at HBTC for over 5 years now. My role started with basic tasks such as filling, scanning and attendance. I have since progressed onto a more challenging role with the skills I have acquired throughout my time here.

What is your primary goal within your job role?

I sign up all our apprentices onto to their courses in our Hull office and also facilitate any exams they may need to sit throughout their time on programme. I also claim certificates for all learners once they have achieved their qualifications. The goal is to make sure I help everyone’s apprenticeship run as smoothly as possible.

What is your favourite part of your job?

I enjoy meeting and engaging with new people on a regular basis through signing up learners onto their course. I also enjoy working on stats and data for our monthly staff meetings as I get to see how we are progressing through the year.

Why do you think Apprenticeships are good?

Apprenticeships are good as they allow you to get much needed work experience whilst also giving you opportunities to learn and earn at the same time. They also allow you to progress down different routes that may not be available through college and other avenues.

What do you get up to outside of work?

I enjoy socialising with friends and family as well as keeping up with my favourite sports which are football and rugby. I also enjoy going to gigs and festivals and the odd trip down to the pub.
