Hard Work Paying Off for Apprentice Beth Johnson
Beth Johnson found HBTC on the internet whilst researching for jobs. She applied for one of our many Apprenticeship vacancies via our website. One of the team got in touch and invited her in for an interview.
With help from HBTC, Beth secured a Traineeship at The Deep Business Centre. A Traineeship is an education and training programme with work experience that is focused on giving young people the skills and experience that employers are looking for. Whilst on the work experience placement she gained some valuable skills including how to answer the phone in the correct manner, team working, and communication with internal and external clients.
When Beth completed her Traineeship, HBTC worked with her to help her find an Apprenticeship. She beat some strong competition to secure a position of Warehouse & Logistics Administrator Apprentice at Reckitt Benckiser (RB). RB is a british multi-national consumer goods company. It is a producer of health, hygiene and home products.
Beth is enjoying her Apprenticeship at RB and says “there is never a boring day and I am always learning something new.”
RB have been recruiting Apprentices within Hull for several years.
“So far we have had a very good experience, all of our Apprentices have gained permanent employment, which says a lot about the scheme we are running.”
Sandra Booth-Geschinske, Training Manager
Sandra encourages other employers considering Apprenticeship recruitment “Do it. It enables you to develop new talent through your own ranks.”
Beth has since progressed onto her Advanced Apprenticeship in Business Administration and has continued working at RB. She has moved teams and is now working as a Procurement Apprentice.
“Being in the Warehouse and moving into Procurement has given me confidence in speaking to new people and more confidence with my skills.”
“I am really enjoying my new role within Procurement as I am undertaking new challenges every day. I am currently having training to learn new roles within Procurement to develop my skills more.”
Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and equality & diversity, and promoting the welfare of our learners. We expect all HBTC employees, learners, employers, visitors and partners to share our commitment.
